Chainadvise bagged a honorary award for outstanding contribution in blockchain development in Africa during the Africa Bank 4.0 Awards held at the Movenpick Hotel, Nairobi recently on 26th May 2022. The award ceremony crowned the ending of a 5-day Africa Bank 4.0 Summit – CEO’s Exclusive which was organized by a global events company, BII World and Dubai’s Network International. The summit brought together banks CEOs and top fintech executives from across Africa. There were also speakers from Middle East, Asia and Europe.
The Summit was the 8th such banking event organized by BII World with the preceding events held virtually due to the Covid-19 restrictions. During the recent summit, which was the first in-person version, a number of topics were discussed by the panelists and covered by the speakers. Benjamin Arunda, the founder of Chainadvise, was a panelist in two sessions where he discussed the regulatory environment of blockchain technology and the evolving nature of digital payments including the transformation of credit and debit cards from plastic cards to virtual cards. Safaricom, in partnership with Visa, recently announced the launch of their Mpesa Global virtual card which can be used on ecommerce platforms.
The adoption of blockchain technology is growing in East Africa with the increasing interest by corporates to learn about the use cases, to research and to develop prototypes based on the Web3 or blockchain. Chainadvise is playing a critical role in creating boardroom blockchain awareness helping senior management and directors to make informed decisions.
